Have You Always Dreamed of Being a Gardener? Here are Some Tips!

Choosing among all of the gardening tips and tricks out there can be difficult. So much of the information out there is conflicting that sorting through it all can be very time consuming. Gardening is more involved than simply tossing some seeds into your yard and watering them every once in a while. Gardening is difficult. It takes time and effort. It will quickly become apparent that gardening can be very rewarding, even with all of the effort that goes into growing those plants and flowers. Here are some gardening tips to help you grow the garden of your dreams! In case you’re interested, a super way to use all of those tasty vegetables is making green smoothies with a Vitamix blender. Using mulch in your garden is a great way to get nutrients into the soil and keep pests away from your garden. Weeds do not grow well in mulch. Many gardeners use mulch to cut down on the amount of maintenance they have to do and because it keeps their gardens healthy. Mulch is good for a lot of reasons.

Mulch is fantastic for temperature control uses as well as maintaining a great level of soil moisture. Another reason that mulch is great is that it is a lot less expensive than purchasing expensive fertilizers. Mulch can work just as well without costing you nearly as much. Bees are great! You might not be thrilled to have them around your person, but bees are a godsend to a garden! Bees spread pollen around, which your garden needs if it is going to grow. Plants cannot grow fruit or bloom until they’ve been “fertilized” with pollen. So, basically, you need to get used to seeing and dealing with bees. In fact, you might even want to take some steps to attract them to your garden! Planting tomatillos is a great way to attract bees and to keep them busy pollinating your garden. You should plant at least one tomatillo plant to attract the bees and then, if you and your family enjoy tomatillos as well, plant a second tomatillo plant for you-this way you won’t have to fit the bees for access to the plant.

You can use compost to make your garden healthier. You can make your own compost without having to buy special things.

Starting a simple compost pile at home is easy. Compost piles can be made from everything from paper to caged pet bedding to food scraps (plant based)-even used tea bags and egg shells and coffee grounds can be added to your compost pile. Pretty much the only thing you can’t put into a compost pile is meat. This is how you make your own home grown fertilizer for your garden!

A lot of people think that gardening is an intricate process. You are not alone if you find the process of growing things complicated and a little scary-a lot of brand new gardeners feel that way when they first start gardening! You’ll be happy to know that all you need is a good gardening mentor (or a few articles to act as a mentor) and growing your first garden won’t seem so hard anymore. In fact, if you are diligent and work hard, you’ll be growing your own successful garden in no time! Lastly, be sure to check out our Vitamix review!
